AIESEC India's Country Expansions Initiatives- AIESEC Mauritius

Through our Country Expansions Initiative for the year 2007-08, AIESEC India is establishing an AIESEC chapter in Mauritius and provide the youth opportunities to access the AIESEC platform, with a focus on building personal networks and exploring the direction and ambition of their future. AIESEC in India's last successful country expansion was AIESEC Pakistan, which has become a full member country in AIESEC's global network.

The many similarities in culture and growing business cooperation between the two countries, had led AIESEC India to choose Mauritius as a lucrative AIESEC country. We are keen to contribute directly to AIESEC's 2010 vision of expanding AIESEC to numerous geographies.

AIESEC in India extensions

AIESEC in India currently has 12 local chapters operating out of different parts of the country. In the year 2007, AIESEC India is in the process of expanding into 4 new cities which are highly potential and promise sustainable development of AIESEC in their local environments. Indore, Kochi, Lucknow are the 4 upcoming cities in India where AIESEC has started its operations. These chapters are officially recognized “ Extension chapters of India

Development issues have always been a serious concern across the world, whether it is the third world countries or developed nation. What AIESEC believes is that the young minds can create a great impact on the society to eradicate and lessen the effect of these issues if given a proper platform where they could really sit down, discuss and exchange their thoughts and ideas with each other to come with positive outcomes and provide the society a solution for these issues.

The international development congress aims to bring a light the various development issues which are critical in achieving world peace, equality and it also helps fulfill the humankind potential, which is synonymous to the objectives of AIESEC. Such opportunities provide the young AIESEC’ers an international platform where they take an active role to discuss the issues such as education, poverty, rural development, health and environment and find solutions for them and decide their role in the future for these issues with an international perspective and develop awareness towards these issues challenging their overview.
